Job Title: Accounting ManagerJob Description

This role offers an opportunity to lead the finance function for a newly acquired operating company and help shape its accounting and financial processes during a period of transition. As an Accounting Manager and member of the management team, you oversee all core accounting and finance activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and the monthly close process. You work closely with corporate leadership and plant management to build a strong financial foundation, partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive process improvements that enhance overall business performance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the monthly and annual close processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial results in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Coordinate and support external audit activities by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts in collaboration with leadership and operational teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Maintain financial data integrity within the cloud-based ERP system, including accurate standard costs, routings, and inventory transactions.
  • Oversee and refine internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Partner with operations and plant management to identify and implement cost savings, process improvements, and performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership to align financial processes and reporting with broader organizational goals and requirements.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a staff accounting or senior accounting role.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is ideal.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with standard costing and inventory management systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work efficiently with large datasets.
  • Strong accounting foundation with direct responsibility for core accounting functions rather than accounting as a partial duty.
  • Proven experience in general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain consistency and stability in employment history.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with cloud-based ERP systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with corporate leadership, plant management, and operational teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements in accounting and finance functions.
  • Comfort working in a growing organization undergoing change and integration of new operations.
  • Effective communication skills to present financial information and recommendations to non-financial stakeholders.
