Political Science Research Assistant (Temporary - Part-Time)

Dr. Kirk Hawkins in the Political Science Department is seeking a part-time staff research assistant to work with him until August 2026.

What you'll do in this position:

  • Train a student employee on being an administrative assistant for Team Populism, an international scholarly network

  • Train a team of undergraduate research assistants to study textual analysis using LLMs

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU

  • Some college experience

  • Work experience under Dr. Kirk Hawkins and familiarity with his current research projects

  • Experience working with Team Populism

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
