Part-time Faculty, Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Clinical Site Assignments - Medical-Surgical & Geriatric Nursing
Location: Clinical site assignment locations throughout Fresno, CA; some indirect patient care is also performed in the skills and simulation lab in Fresno, CA.

Position Summary
The Department of Nursing, in the School of Health Professions at National University, invites applications for part-time faculty to conduct Pediatrics clinicals at placement sites for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university's diverse adult student body. This position primarily works with the Academic Program Director along with other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and student success.
Essential Job Duties
  • Lead sessions at clinical placement sites.
  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
  • Some indirect patient care is also performed in the skills and simulation lab.

Qualifications
Required:
  • A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
  • At least one year of continuous clinical bedside nursing experience in an acute care setting (Medical-Surgical & Geriatric Nursing) within the last 5 years, or at least one year of clinical teaching experience within the last 5 years.
  • Must have a current, unencumbered CA Registered Nursing license.

Preferred:
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. in Nursing or DNP) from a nationally accredited or regionally accredited university.
  • 1+ years of higher education teaching experience in a nursing program.
  • Experience teaching adult learners.
