Essential Job Functions:

  • Evaluates and develops treatment plans based off the initial evaluation and the physician referral.
  • Provides discharge planning and documentation.
  • Performs daily therapy treatments with patients.
  • Compiles data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports them in writing.
  • Communicates with Physical Therapist Assistants regarding the plan of care and progress of patients.
  • Communicates with the referring Physician in various forms.
  • Understands and complies with universal precautions, safety and risk policies and procedures.
  • Assists with department QA reports and records.
  • Performs necessary documentation including progress notes and logs in timely manner.
  • Monitors treatments administered by Physical Therapy Assistants, Aides and/ or Rehab Technicians.
  • Prepares supplies as needed.
  • Keeps exam tables and pillows sanitized after every patient.
  • Sanitizes and keeps the clinical area tidy.
  • Performs Swimex pool maintenance on a daily basis to include placing appropriate chemicals in the pool, performing testing and keeps area clean and safe.
  • Maintains patient and Company confidentiality at all times.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Provides innovative input into the development of the departmental environments and processes.
  • Creates and maintains policy and procedures to State and Federal regulations.
  • Creates and maintains policy and procedures in relation to hospital/ clinic regulations.

Requirements

Working Conditions:

This position works in varied environments including medical office, clinical rehabilitation area, acute care facilities and outdoor areas, as well as potential for off premise work and travel. Potential to be exposed to hazardous substances, blood and bodily fluids. Constant interaction with co-workers, patients, vendors and general public, which may involve individuals who are angry, upset or ill.

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily an action position requiring walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting and lifting up to 75 pounds. At times must lift up to 100 pounds. Potential for long periods of sitting or standing. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with the computer and other facility operating systems. Must have auditory acuity to effectively interact with patients and public.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate Degree of Physical Therapy
  • BLS Certification
  • Current Kansas Licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Orthopedic experience
  • Previous medical office experience
  • Clinical computer application experience and/ or training

Work Schedule:

Schedule is varied based on the needs of the Department.
