Overview:


We are seeking an experienced sales executive with a minimum of 10 years sales experience, particularly within the data analytics industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales of VAST Data's groundbreaking data platform product. This role requires exceptional evangelism skills, deep understanding of the database industry landscape, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.



Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand VAST Data's customer base.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within target accounts.
  • Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value proposition of VAST Data's innovative data platform.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, and customer success to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and alignment with company objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively position VAST Data's solutions in the market.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports to management.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for VAST Data, representing the company with professionalism and integrity at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Continuously strive for personal and professional growth through ongoing learning and development initiatives.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience with a strong track record selling analytics, database, AI, or infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong technical understanding of modern data and AI architectures, including distributed databases, data lakes/lakehouses, AI/ML pipelines, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and high-performance storage.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics and AI ecosystems such as Snowflake, Databricks, Confluent, ClickHouse, Elastic, MongoDB, Redis, Spark, Iceberg, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to engage credibly with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data Officers, platform architects, and data engineering teams on both business and technical value.
  • Proven success navigating complex enterprise sales cycles with multiple technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong consultative selling, evangelism, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with AI, analytics modernization, or large-scale data transformation initiatives preferred.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and modern sales productivity tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
