POSITION OVERVIEW

The Account Manager, Virtual Banking Centre, maintains relationships with clients in the small and stable business segment, by phone or electronically, in order to promote business development and client retention.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Develop and implement a client growth and retention strategy in a large, high volume portfolio, to build a long-term profitable loan portfolio with clients, while providing high quality client service.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for financing and consulting services while focusing on the development of current portfolios.
  • Work as a team to provide outstanding client service and ensure smooth work sharing.
  • Develop and implement an individual and group marketing plan that is consistent with the strategy and goals of the Virtual Business Center portfolio. Achieve financial goals related to expected loss rate, profitability, revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Use credit judgment to ensure loan proposals are of high quality, acceptable risk and meet established standards. Ensures that they meet accepted credit criteria and comply with BDC policies and procedures.
  • Analyze, negotiate and prepare high quality loan proposals through thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practices.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in policies, procedures, and processes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Administration
  • 3 to 5 years experience as a commercial banker; proven sales skills and passion for entrepreneurship
  • Proven talent in business development and client relationship management
  • Successful candidates will be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while recognizing the importance of in-person branch attendance to support teamwork, knowledge sharing, and client service excellence.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities for entrepreneurs who will benefit from BDC's unique suite of services (financing and consulting)
  • In-depth knowledge of BDC products, services, policies and procedures
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a focus on results
  • Team player with a thorough understanding of the dynamics of small business and underserved markets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a high volume of client relationships
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset, depending on location
