About the Role

We're seeking a Data Scientist - Applied Science for our Platform team. You will join our dynamic team and significantly contribute to the evolution of our cutting-edge AI platform. This pivotal role will be instrumental in developing and applying advanced AI models, with a particular focus on enhancing the capabilities of our foundational LLM platform and leveraging it to solve complex, real-world challenges. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and product leaders, shaping the direction of our AI platform and driving impactful applications across our partner ecosystem. This isn't just about building models; it's about architecting the future of intelligent systems.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead the design, development, and optimization of components and features within our LLM platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Translate research breakthroughs and cutting-edge techniques in NLP and generative AI into practical, impactful solutions for our clients and partners. This includes experimenting with novel architectures, training methodologies, and evaluation strategies
  • Drive the development and refinement of LLM output chains for a wide range of use cases, focusing on quality, accuracy, and user experience
  • Champion MLOps best practices including robust benchmark monitoring, automated testing, and continuous improvement pipelines
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance and ethical AI policies
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap for our AI platform and applied science initiatives, aligning with business objectives and emerging industry trends
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, collaborating seamlessly with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field and 3+ years of industry experience applying data science techniques to solve complex problems
  • Commercial experience with NLP techniques (supervised NLP learning with LSTM/CNN/Transformers) and deep practical experience with Generative AI frameworks and tools (e.g., Langchain, LlamaIndex, RAG, Multi-Agent Frameworks, fine-tuning approaches)
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and 3+ years' experience programming in Python, including proficiency in NLP libraries (e.g., spaCy, NLTK, Transformers)
  • Solid understanding of MLOps principles and experience with relevant tools and technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • An ability and desire to read and critically evaluate current research in LLMs and related fields
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and embraces ambiguity
  • A strong and demonstrable history of data science experience, with the ability to clearly articulate successful past projects and their impact
