Responsibilities
Peraton requires Cloud Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
The Cloud Systems Engineer will be tasked with the provision of Global Enterprise IT services, specifically focusing the design and management of the core cloud infrastructure. With a deep understanding of AWS & Azure service such as EC2/Azure Virtual Machines, VPC/Virtual Networks and S3/Storage accounts. In addition to these responsibilities, the Cloud Engineer create and maintain the foundational elements that support cloud applications and services. The Engineer is expected to deliver Tier 3 level support to SITEC 3 EOM mission partners. This critical support role involves the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of system outages, all while guaranteeing optimal service uptime and mission operational capabilities.
The Cloud Systems Engineer is a pivotal role within our IT infrastructure team, providing tier three systems support in line with the SIE OPORD. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of government PAAS, SAAS coupled with advanced skills in analysis, troubleshooting, and system design. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is a critical component of this role. The engineer will be integral to the systems engineering process, leveraging data for performance enhancement, and participating actively in working groups, design reviews, and system testing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer the AWS & Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security.
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure.
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
  • Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions.
  • Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions.
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments.
  • Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.
  • Ensure all resources components meet proper performance and capacity standards.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Cloud Administrators, enhancing their understanding of Cloud capabilities and standard configurations.
  • Innovate and implement new technologies to advance mission readiness.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Min 9 years with HS degree, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Minimum of 3+ years of AWS/Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration, and optimization.
  • Proven track record in managing production Windows Servers and implementing top-tier security practices within an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft operating platforms and office applications.
  • At least 3 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in performance optimization and system engineering processes.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Must be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 462- Control Systems Security Specialist - Intermediate level or higher by 1 Oct 26.

Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
