Solution Engineering Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions for our evolving Commercial Eco-system. The Solution Engineering Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining customized solutions in C#, .Net, and cloud-native platforms (i.e., Azure) and technologies. This will involve analyzing business requirements, coding new features to applications, enhancing existing code and troubleshooting application issues, developing platforms and solutions to support data engineering and developer tooling, and configuring and customizing vendor-provided packaged software.

• Develop program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and implements high-quality code that satisfies customer needs and strives for simplicity, clarity, and testability.
• Adhere to architecture, design, implementation, security standards, best practices, and Marathon development standards, practices, and processes.
• Maintain the security and integrity of the application software.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (i.e., business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, ScrumMasters, and end users) to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
• Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
• Analyzes and translates business requirements into technical requirements and specifications. Tests the stability and functionality of the application and integrates application components. Leverages standardized application, reporting, data, and integration tools to develop and improve applications. Conduct analysis to determine integration needs, and design and plan integrations.
• Implement unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing where appropriate.
• Develop reusable software building blocks to enable faster delivery.
• Participate in scope of work estimation and forecasting.
• Stay informed of current technologies and business requirements.
• Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and that technologies/systems are current
• Understand the data and functions within the Information Technology (IT) applications and interfacing applications.
• Troubleshoots application issues, and engage others as needed.
• Participate in code reviews or use collaborative programming techniques to promote high quality business outcomes.
• Improve application performance by diagnosing and resolving critical issues to ensure business requirements are met and reduce “run the business” support.
• Ensure that change management follows the IT standards. Assists IT Business Analyst with reviews of the applications.
• Prepare technical documentation, including software design evaluation plans, test results, and technical manuals.
• Coach and mentor junior software developers.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related/equivalent experience
• Two or more years of experience in application and software development
• Experience developing customer facing interfaces
• Background and experience in Oil & Gas Commercial industry
• Strong proficiency in.Net, C#,.Net Blazor, Java Script, MySQL, SQL, and SSIS
• Experience with development platforms (i.e., Azure, Salesforce, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with integration platforms (i.e., Azure, Dell Boomi, webMethods, SAP PI/PO)
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience developing for cloud-native solutions (i.e., Azure).
• Experience in building APIs for both internal and external products.
• Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices
