Job description


Job Summary:
The Forensic Technology Manager supports digital forensics, data analytics, and eDiscovery matters involving the identification, preservation, collection, analysis, and reporting of electronically stored information. This role is responsible for managing project workstreams, developing practical work plans, coordinating with clients and internal teams, supporting technical execution, and preparing clear findings and documentation. The Manager is expected to bring strong digital forensics knowledge, sound judgment, and a working understanding of the eDiscovery marketplace to help deliver consistent, defensible, and client-focused work.
Job Duties:
Leadership:
  • Maintains awareness of digital forensics, eDiscovery, and technology trends, including tools and workflows that may improve service delivery
  • Provides guidance and informal mentorship to junior team members and helps reinforce consistent work practices

Client Management:
  • Manages multiple forensic technology and eDiscovery matters across an assigned portfolio of clients
  • Builds trust with clients by providing responsive, practical, and well-informed guidance
  • Responds to client requests, identifies appropriate next steps, and escalates issues when additional review or direction is needed
  • Develops and manages project plans, timelines, and workflows in coordination with clients, project managers, and technical team members
  • Helps clients understand available forensic technology services and coordinates with the broader practice when additional expertise is needed
  • Explains technical findings, limitations, and recommendations in a way that is clear to both technical and non-technical audiences

Technology:
  • Uses common forensic collection, preservation, and analysis tools, such as EnCase, FTK, Axiom, Cellebrite, USB Detective, FTK Imager, and TD2U, as appropriate for the matter
  • Uses data analysis, reporting, and workflow tools, including Smartsheet, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Purview eDiscovery, and trend analysis, to support matter strategy and communicate meaningful insights
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • May provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members, coordinate work allocation on assigned matters, and review work product for consistency and quality

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, required

Experience:
  • Five (5) or more years of digital forensics, forensic technology, eDiscovery, or incident response experience, required
  • Experience preparing reports, affidavits, declarations, or other defensible documentation of findings, required
  • Experience coordinating complex investigative or eDiscovery matters involving multiple data sources, stakeholders, or jurisdictions, preferred
  • Experience supporting expert reports, testimony preparation, depositions, hearings, or trial work, preferred

License/Certifications:
  • Two (2) or more relevant industry certifications such as EnCE, CCE, ACE, GCFE, GCFA, CCPA, or comparable credentials, strongly preferred

Software:
  • Proficiency with core forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, or comparable platforms, required
  • Experience with Google Vault, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview eDiscovery, or related administrative consoles, preferred
  • Experience with Axiom, TD2U devices, mobile collections, cloud collections, or other forensic acquisition tools, preferred

Language:
  • Additional language fluency, including Spanish, Asian languages, or other languages relevant to client service, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to organize and interpret large volumes of data
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple matters or workstreams at the same time
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Ability to act as a reliable day-to-day contact for assigned engagements and communicate with confidence and professionalism
  • A strong desire to learn continually and grow professionally
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice
  • Comfortable working in a team-based environment and supporting cross-functional collaboration
  • Interest in contributing to a growing practice and helping improve how work is delivered
  • Ability to work independently, apply sound judgment, and adapt as client needs or matter priorities change

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $130,000 - $155,000
Maryland Range: $130,000 - $155,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $130,000 - $155,000
