Job description

Job Title: AKS Administrator

Job Details:

We are looking for an experienced AKS Administrator to manage, support, and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in AKS administration, Azure infrastructure support, cluster operations, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting production workloads.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters across production and non-production environments.

  • Manage Azure infrastructure components related to AKS, including Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, App Services, and Azure Databases.

  • Handle cluster configuration, node pool management, scaling, upgrades, patching, and overall AKS health checks.

  • Deploy and support containerized applications in AKS environments using Helm, YAML manifests, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

  • Monitor cluster and application performance using Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and DataDog.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to pods, nodes, networking, ingress, storage, and application deployments.

  • Manage Kubernetes security and access controls, including RBAC, secrets management, policies, and compliance standards.

  • Support CI/CD processes using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD for application deployment and environment management.

  • Work with development, cloud, and infrastructure teams to ensure platform stability, availability, and scalability.

  • Maintain documentation for AKS environments, deployment processes, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Ensure backup, disaster recovery, governance, and best practices are followed across Kubernetes environments.

  • Continuously improve automation, operational efficiency, performance, and cost optimization within Azure Kubernetes environments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ years of IT infrastructure / cloud administration experience, with strong focus on Azure and Kubernetes administration.

  • Hands-on experience in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) administration, including cluster deployment, upgrades, scaling, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, workloads, namespaces, ingress, services, config maps, secrets, and persistent storage.

  • Experience with Azure services such as VNet, NSG, Load Balancer, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.

  • Familiarity with deployment and package management tools like Helm and Kubernetes YAML manifests.

  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.

  • Knowledge of Terraform, ARM templates, or other IaC tools is a plus.

  • Scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation and administration tasks.

  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in Kubernetes environments.

  • Experience with Kubernetes security best practices including RBAC, policies, secrets management, and compliance controls.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
