Job description

BayNova is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Windows Engineer to join our team in support of a mission-critical federal government client in a remote / work from home role.
Job Description:
  • Administering and troubleshooting on a large-scale enterprise Windows environment, to include all supported subsystems and 3rd party applications.
  • Planning, Design, Implementation, and Troubleshooting of everything on the Windows server and workstation platforms.  
  • Add improvements and efficiency to current processes
  • Provide consistent customer service
  • Be part of a 24x7 “on-call” engineering team with availability on nights and/or weekends for troubleshooting, maintenance, and any other special circumstances

Required Skills:
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Expert level experience in PowerShell scripting, in order to demonstrate an ability to automate routine tasks for daily operations and maintenance 
  • Expert level skillset in Microsoft technologies including IIS, MSSQL and Active Directory 
  • Must be highly skilled and proficient in problem solving and able to follow a systematic troubleshooting approach—very strong troubleshooting skills required 
  • Methodical approach to change execution and implementation 
  • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP 
  • Excellent communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization 
  • Ability to obtain a Position of Trust Clearance
  • 24x7 On-call rotation for afterhours support

Desired:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in computer related fields, technical certifications related to responsibilities, or equivalent professional experience 
  • Familiarity with common frameworks, languages and server technologies used to develop large-scale applications 
  • Experience with Microsoft C# programming language 
  • Experience designing and supporting highly available application infrastructure 
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and services with ability to troubleshoot (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL, TLS, SFTP, routing, switching, firewalls) 
  • Sound knowledge of Windows and VMware HA environments including VMware HA/DRS/SRM 
  • Understanding of SAN to server connectivity including within NetApp and EMC platforms 
  • Experience and comfort with hosted/cloud based solutions
