Job Description
  • Performs routine database maintenance. Assists with tuning performance, troubleshooting, writing queries and stored procedures, managing user access, developing and running data import routines from external systems, testing and updating disaster recovery procedures, and developing and executing database upgrade plans.
  • Analyzes business procedures and problems to design, implement, and refine accurate, secure, and efficient logical and physical databases in alignment with database design standards.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains SQL Server databases, ensuring continual care and peak performance.
  • Monitors and optimizes database performance by troubleshooting bottlenecks and query issues.
  • Identifies and resolves production and application development problems related to the database management system. Implements and manages comprehensive backup, recovery, and replication processes to protect company data resources against unauthorized access and destruction.
  • Develops and maintains data models and documentation for the data dictionary, including data type, structure, and intended use.
  • Confers with project teams and organizational units to ascertain specific output requirements and defines logical and mathematical operations.
  • Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals related to operational systems.
  • Manages individual projects, including customer communications, while also working effectively as part of a larger team.
  • Shares information and work together with team members as needed to accomplish given tasks
  • Performs on call duties in support of production applications

  • Typically has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, and 0 - 2 years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience; e.g., each year of work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
