The Enterprise Data Platforms organization is actively looking for anAzure Platform Engineerto join our team at the Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, IN. Are you passionate about automation, large-scale cloud platforms, and driving enterprise impact through AI-enabled operations? Do you enjoy solving complex challenges and improving the reliability, security, and efficiency of global cloud infrastructure?

What You'll Be Doing:

You will work extensively withAzure Platform Operations, focusing on Azure PaaS and IaaS services such as Azure Databases, Azure Data Factory, Key Vault, and related services. Your primary objectives will be to qualify Azure services, build robust CI/CD pipelines, and automate service provisioning and management at enterprise scale.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Lilly subject matter experts (SMEs) and Cloud Infrastructure hosting teams to introduce enhancements, expand automation capabilities, and ensure systems are secure, compliant, and cost-effective. You will also be responsible for strengthening platform security by conducting vulnerability scans and remediating findings in alignment with Lilly security standards.

Your Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • At least 5 years of as an Azure Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer in an enterprise environment, with a focus on automation, scripting, and CI/CD pipeline development and management.

  • Experience with Databases (SQL/ Oracle) and Agentic AI.

  • Azure Certification, Admin or above

Additional Information:

  • Onsite role located inIndianapolis, Indiana(relocation required).

  • Work Schedule:

    • 9:00 am - 6:00 pm EST

    • Rotating on call weekend schedule

  • Less than 5% travel.

How You'll Succeed:

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.

  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform, applying modular and reusable patterns across Dev, QA, and Production environments.

  • Provision and manage Azure infrastructure and platform services including VMs, databases, Key Vaults, storage accounts, and Azure Data Factory with high availability and disaster recovery in mind.

  • Manage Git repositories and branching strategies, enforce pull request approvals, code reviews, and quality gates, and secure repositories using GitHub Advanced Security.

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and related tools to ensure platform reliability and performance.

  • Manage identity, access, and security controls including RBAC, Azure AD roles, secrets, certificates, and encryption using Azure Key Vault.

  • Automate routine operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Azure CLI, and standardize repeatable processes through runbooks and self-service capabilities.

  • Provide L2/L3 operational support, troubleshoot incidents and outages, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventative measures.

  • Enforce governance, policy, tagging standards, and cost management practices using Azure Cost Management and Advisor.

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and architecture diagrams to support Security and CSQA compliance.

What You Should Bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services, including networking, storage, policies, governance, and security.

  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Terraform in enterprise environments.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, YAML, and Bicep for automation and infrastructure deployment.

  • Strong knowledge of Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Kusto Query, Azure Backup, and Azure Functions.

  • Experience managing Git repositories and source control best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with encryption, Azure Key Vault, and vulnerability remediation.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools and ITSM processes.

  • Strong documentation skills to support Security and CSQA standards.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$64,500 - $158,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
