What is an Azure consultant?

An Azure Consultant is an IT professional who specializes in Microsoft Azure, a cloud computing platform. They help organizations design, implement, and manage solutions on Azure, including migrating existing systems to the cloud, optimizing cloud architecture, and ensuring security and compliance. Azure Consultants often provide guidance on best practices, cost management, and cloud strategy to maximize the benefits of Azure services. Their expertise spans infrastructure, data, security, and application development within the Azure ecosystem.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Azure consultant?

To thrive as an Azure Consultant, you need in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, and experience with migration or deployment projects, typically supported by relevant certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. • Plan and deploy Azure environments for application teams based on project requirements
  • Support onboarding and platform adoption for Azure-based enterprise solutions
  • Collaborate with Microsoft teams on upcoming Azure features and platform enhancements

  • Familiarity with Agile development and continuous delivery methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in large enterprise or healthcare environments
  • Strong understanding of Azure environment provisioning and governance processes
  • Ability to balance technical design review with project coordination and delivery planning
  • Experience working with distributed onsite and offshore teams
