The Client Engineering team is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team and help us radically change how we service and support Client devices across the Enterprise and Agency environments. The successful candidate will have a large scope of work responsibilities including opportunities to set direction and POC new technologies across the entire suite of Client technologies including: Workstation Hardware, Workstation OS, Software Deployment, Mac Hardware/OS, Intune, JAMF and Virtual Desktop/Shared Desktop solutions. 

HYBRID: Qualified candidates must live within a 180-mile radius of a hub location listed below and should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment.
HUB LOCATIONS: Bloomington, IL; Richardson, TX; Dunwoody, GA; Tempe, AZ

Responsibilities

Areas of focus:

  • Drive the enablement and maturity of Zero Touch deployments (Intune) across all End User devices
  • Drive the enablement and maturity of Cloud based VDI environments
  • Drive improvements in delivery of client hardware to consumers.
  • Improvements to the Mac ecosystem

This Infrastructure Engineer would be responsible for:

  • Partnering/collaborating with architects, managers, and product teams and working towards shared outcomes.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor on technology/engineering best practices across leadership and key product initiatives and helping to identify horizontal connections/implications.
  • Demonstrating tremendous learning agility – continuously learning about new platforms, technologies, tools, languages, and frameworks to solve problems and uncover unexpected opportunities.
  • Surfacing significant engineering-related decisions, risks, issues, and problems and applying engineering disciplines to drive towards resolution.Staying on top of industry trends in digital solutions and managing a backlog of spikes/POCs for learning and exploring new opportunities.
  • Spreading key technical innovations through mentoring/coaching and minimalist enablement investment to promote successful adoption.
  • Providing coaching/mentoring and encouraging community across engineers, while also looking at the bigger picture of alignment, priority, and collaboration across our engineer assignments. Role-modeling engagement and mentoring in the broader State Farm engineering community.

  • Potential starting salary range: $124,000 - $185,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
