Job description

Job Summary:
Georgia IT, Inc. is seeking an Azure Architect to lead Azure cost and architecture optimization. The role involves planning and governing selective workload migration from Azure to AWS, while reviewing the Azure estate and providing recommendations for licensing optimization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead Azure cost and architecture optimization. Plan and govern selective workload migration from Azure to AWS where it reduces total cost of ownership.
• Review Azure estate (compute, storage, data services, networking, and observability).
• Identify Azure-native cost levers: reservations, savings plans, Hybrid Benefit, autoscale, B-series, and Spot.
• Lead Azure-to-AWS migration planning, including dependency mapping and risk assessment.
• Coordinate with the AWS Architect on landing zone consistency post-migration.
• Provide recommendations on Azure-specific licensing optimization.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Expert Azure across IaaS, PaaS, AKS, App Services, Azure SQL, Synapse, and Databricks.
• Azure Cost Management + Billing, Azure Advisor, and Azure Migrate.
• Cross-cloud migration patterns and tools: CloudEndure, AWS MGN, and Azure Migrate.
• Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas and Databricks cost levers (relevant to Insulet's ecosystem).
• Networking: ExpressRoute, VNet peering, and hybrid connectivity.
• 10+ years cloud experience, 6+ years on Azure.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (required for migration scope).
Preferred:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate preferred.
