AWS and SAP have been collaborating since SAP became a customer in 2008. Together, we have certified AWS to support most SAP solutions, brought purpose built EC2 instances to market to support SAP customer needs, and helped SAP leverage AWS services to power a number of their SaaS and PaaS offerings like Concur, SuccessFactors (for government agencies), HANA Cloud, and SAP Business Technology Platform.
AWS has been supporting SAP workloads for customers longer than any other cloud provider (since 2011), has more customers (5,000+ across all segments) than any other cloud provider, is certified to support the largest public cloud (native) SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA deployments, and has more SAP HANA cloud native certifications than other cloud providers.
As an SAP on AWS, Solutions Architect focused on SAP within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's web services (Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, and Amazon EBS) for SAP customers. The emphasis being on working directly with customers to develop cloud migration and/or adoption strategies as it relates to their business critical SAP systems.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skill in both SAP solutions (Basis) and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills that will enable you to represent AWS well, not only to customers and IT executives but also to the broader SAP community including SAP, developers, and architects. The ideal candidate should also have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Experience and deep knowledge of SAP systems (RISE, SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP NetWeaver/BASIS Administration, SAP sizing). Experience working backwards with Enterprise customers to architect highly available (HA) fault tolerant systems (DR).
Key job responsibilities
• Engage with customers to develop an approach to migrate complex on premises SAP landscapes to the cloud
• Work with customers to solve unique and challenging business problems through designing, testing, and the delivering of innovative solution
• Execute customer facing and virtual technology and innovation workshops
• Create prototypes covering solutions that include off the shelf and custom built applications, platforms, databases, and security
• Design system landscapes for development, testin,g and full production across entities, business units, and geographies
• Assist customers with complex solution sizing of technology components (O/S, Database, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes)
• Engage with customers to model and design their current state architecture, target state architecture and transition architecture
• Articulate the value of AWS solutions to enable customers to automate system backups and restoration
• Articulate the value of AWS solutions to support database parameters, tuning, and health checks to customers
• Articulate the value of AWS solutions to customers covering system installation, copies, and kernel upgrades to customers
• Articulate the value of AWS solutions to customers covering system high availability and disaster recovery
• Articulate the value of AWS solutions to customers covering single points of failure and remediation guidance
• Work with customers to design customer specific security roles per business requirements
• Develop and deliver customer-facing technology content including whitepapers, blogs, podcast, videos, and presentations
• Respond to detailed client and prospect proposals (RFP/RFI/RFx)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of SAP applications, server technology, and network security
- Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
- Knowledge of cloud architecture
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in SAP clean core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative / Agentic AI, and data & analytics
- 7+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
