This role is responsible for performing structural inspections on concrete, masonry, steel, and welding projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of applicable codes, exceptional documentation skills, and a commitment to safety and precision.Compensation: $28-32/hour depending on experienceLocation: West Valley City, UtahFLSA Exemption: Non-ExemptSchedule: Hours may varyWhat you'll be doing:Conduct inspections for structural concrete, masonry, steel, and welding in accordance with project specifications and relevant codesRead and interpret plans and specifications for the elements being inspectedCommunicate findings clearly and in a timely manner with Project Managers, Contractors, Structural Engineers, and TechniciansMaintain accurate records, reports, datasheets, and timecardsPerform soil density and concrete testing as neededEnsure compliance with acceptance and rejection criteria for construction elementsMaintain truck and equipment per company policyUphold a professional appearance and client-focused attitude on-siteClimb ladders, scaffolding, and platforms (up to 100') as required for inspection accessMinimize client complaints through accuracy and responsivenessWhat you have:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to understand and perform written instructions, procedures, and calculationsPhysical ability to lift (up to 100 lbs), climb, crouch, twist, and perform other strenuous field tasksStrong communication and report-writing skillsAt least one recommendation from a Project Manager (three preferred)In-depth understanding of materials, construction methods, and inspection/testing proceduresValid driver's licenseWhat will make you stand out:Recommendations from three Project ManagersExtensive experience in multiple areas of inspection (e.g., concrete, masonry, steel, fireproofing)High-level leadership and field judgmentUltrasonic Testing (UT) capabilitiesConsistent record of <1% client complaint ratePreferred Certification(s):ICC Special Inspector Certifications in one or more of the following:Structural MasonryReinforced ConcreteStructural Steel and BoltingSpray-Applied FireproofingCWI – Certified Welding Inspector (AWS)UT Certification for steel inspections (preferred)ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade INICET – Construction Materials Testing (Soils/Concrete preferred)FAA Part 107 Drone License (optional, useful for aerial documentation)CMT Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
