Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC) is a leading energy solutions provider dedicated to helping customers reduce costs, enhance resilience, and decarbonize to net zero in the global energy transition. We are a trusted, full-service partner to public sector and government entities, K-12 schools, higher education, utilities, and healthcare customers across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Europe.

At Ameresco, we show the way by developing, constructing and operating tailored smart energy efficiency solutions, distributed energy resources, and infrastructure upgrades that drive cost savings, resilience, decarbonization, and innovation. Our comprehensive portfolio is built to address the challenges of today and adapt the future, ensuring long-term sustainability and success for our customers.

Ameresco is seeking a Director of Construction to lead construction execution across its Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) portfolio. This role owns delivery performance across multiple installations and is responsible for safe, predictable execution; consistent subcontractor performance; strong quality controls; and effective turnover into long-term operations. This is a senior construction execution leadership role operating in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee construction execution across multiple MHPI installations, including work in occupied residential communities.

  • Establish construction execution strategies, mobilization plans, and readiness gates.

  • Own site safety performance and enforce EH&S as well as code compliance.

  • Drive schedule, cost, and quality accountability.

  • Lead subcontractor selection, performance management, and corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Development on constructability, scope definition, estimating, scheduling, commissioning, and close-out.

  • Manage job cost controls, forecasting, pay applications, documentation, and change management.

  • Drive consistency in execution standards, escalation protocols, and issue resolution practices across the MHPI portfolio.

  • Provide portfolio-level execution reporting and risk visibility to leadership.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 15 years of construction experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience working within the MHPI environment.

  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site or portfolio-scale construction programs.

  • Strong knowledge of federal/military construction environments and occupied housing constraints.

  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling tools (Procore, MS Project; P6 preferred).

  • Valid driver's license.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $161,000-$233,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role. Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
