These skills ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions that drive organizational success.

What are some common challenges faced by AWS Managers when leading cloud migration projects?

AWS Managers often encounter challenges such as aligning cloud strategies with business objectives, managing project timelines amid evolving requirements, and ensuring team members are proficient in AWS best practices. Additionally, coordinating across departments to address security, compliance, and cost management can be complex. Successful AWS Managers proactively communicate with stakeholders, facilitate training, and implement robust governance frameworks to overcome these obstacles.

AWS Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and managing Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments within an organization. They ensure that cloud infrastructure is deployed securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, often supervising teams of cloud engineers and architects. Their duties include implementing best practices, optimizing cloud resources, ensuring compliance, and coordinating cloud migration or integration projects. AWS Managers typically have a strong background in cloud computing, project management, and AWS-specific services. They play a key role in maximizing the benefits of AWS while minimizing risks and costs for their organization.

Job description

About the Role

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead teams building and deploying AI-powered, production-grade software systems directly into customer environments.

In this role, you'll operate at the intersection of technical leadership and client engagement. You'll be responsible for guiding engineers through ambiguous problem spaces, ensuring high-quality execution, and maintaining strong alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.

This position is ideal for leaders who enjoy being hands-on when needed, working closely with clients, mentoring engineers, and owning the successful delivery of complex, real-world systems.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support teams of software and data engineers delivering AI-enabled systems in production
  • Own the technical execution and delivery of client-facing projects, ensuring quality, reliability, and outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into production-ready systems
  • Guide system and solution design across infrastructure, backend services, data platforms, and AI workflows
  • Provide technical mentorship and coaching to engineers through problem solving sessions, code reviews, design discussions, and regular feedback
  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term system maintainability and scalability
  • Stay current with emerging AI and software technologies and apply them pragmatically to client solutions

 What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
  • 1-3 years of experience leading or managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical direction for client-facing initiatives, balancing delivery commitments, stakeholder expectations, and technical quality
  • Proven ability to lead client projects, build strong relationships, and deliver on-time results aligned with client goals.
  • Experience designing, building and maintaining production-grade systems in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Expertise in software engineering best practices, system design, and agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD processes
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or deploying AI-enabled systems, including LLM-based workflows (e.g., RAG, agentic systems, fine-tuning)
  • Experience with data-intensive systems, including ETL/ELT pipelines and analytical platforms
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Experience with workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow, AWS Step Functions)
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational or analytical data systems
  • Associate-level cloud architect certification (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or equivalent)
