Description
Our client is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to help lead the transformation of software delivery and cloud infrastructure practices across a modern AWS environment. This individual will play a critical role in advancing the organization's shift from traditional CAB-driven deployments to a fully automated CI/CD model while embedding security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
This engineer will serve as a key contributor in building scalable, secure, and automated deployment frameworks that enable development teams to deliver software faster, more reliably, and with reduced operational risk. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of DevOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, and security expertise.
Key Areas of Focus
  • Modernizing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitLab.
  • Driving adoption of DevSecOps and secure-by-design engineering practices.
  • Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, with Pulumi preferred.
  • Supporting cloud platform engineering initiatives within a multi-account AWS environment.
  • Implementing automated security controls, vulnerability scanning, and compliance guardrails across the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Partnering with development teams to improve deployment readiness, testing standards, and operational excellence.
  • Leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools and automation to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps environments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Engineering & Automation (5+ years)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Pulumi (Preferred)
  • AWS Cloud Engineering (5+ years)
  • GitLab & Source Control Management
  • SecDevOps, Cloud Security & Security Automation (5+ Years)
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset & AI-Assisted Engineering
  • Experience operating in regulated or security-conscious environments where governance, compliance, and risk mitigation are important considerations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, least-privilege design, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes is a plus, although ECS/Fargate experience is most relevant.
  • Experience implementing automated security testing practices including SAST, DAST, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), container scanning, and Infrastructure-as-Code scanning.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred but not required, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Terraform Associate, or similar credentials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
