Job description

Job Overview

Performance Personnel Services is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians for a high-profile data center retrofit project in Chantilly, Virginia. This project involves working within existing, fully operational AWS data centers where safety, attention to detail, and professionalism are critical.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial or industrial electrical experience and be comfortable working in mission-critical environments. Previous data center experience is highly preferred.

Project Type: Live AWS Data Center Retrofit

Responsibilities

  • Install and support cable tray systems throughout the facility
  • Set and secure electrical equipment according to project specifications
  • Pull, route, dress, and terminate power and control cables
  • Install conduit systems and associated supports
  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all site-specific safety procedures and project requirements
  • Work efficiently while minimizing disruptions within an active data center environment

Qualifications

  • Journeyman-level electrical experience
  • Commercial, industrial, or data center experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with conduit installation and cable pulling
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation and ability to pass all site access requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in live or mission-critical facilities
  • Data center construction experience
  • Experience terminating MC cable
  • Experience with equipment setting and cable tray installation
  • Familiarity with AWS or other hyperscale data center environments

Required Certifications

  • OSHA 10 Certification (JM Minimum Requirement)
  • OSHA 30 Certification & NFPA70E (Foreman Minimum Requirement)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
