Peraton has the opportunity for you to bring your talents to our cutting-edge team in "doing the can't be done".  We are seeking a Data Center Facility Engineerto join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client's global missions. 

The Data Center Facility Engineer will work at our client's National Capital Region (NCR) site.   

Responsibilities: 

The Data Center Facility Engineer is responsible for supporting an engineering team to ensure availability of mechanical and electrical services in the client's Data Centers.  The Data Center Facility Engineer supports the program in managing our client's Data Centers' design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities as required.  This responsibility includes risk management, maintenance, vendor management, and metrics reporting. 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Serve as the program's onsite Data Center Facility Engineer to the client in support of their Data Centers' engineering. 
  • Supports plans utilization of space and facilities for Data Centers consistent with requirements for efficiency, available facilities, and funds.  
  • Supports and ensures all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and Data Centers projects from the design concepts through implementation.  
  • Coordinates and ensures Data Centers' safety and adherence to applicable building codes.  
  • Oversees construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and to ensure that facilities meet environmental, health, and security standards, and comply with government regulations. 
  • Explores and solicits alternative options for products and services to maintain high standards with efficiencies. 
  • Supports physical installation, testing and programming of equipment (such as servers, network devices, cooling units, cables, etc.), patch cabling, decommissioning of equipment, equipment swaps and disposal activities. 
  • Supports troubleshooting hardware issues with remote admins, facilities management, site security, vendor and customer escorts, inventory management and project engagement, as required. 
  • Supports establishment and maintenance of equipment and system standards.  
  • Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified. 
  • Provides network configuration support including maintaining a telecom circuit inventory, including addresses and configuration information for all sites and services. 
  • Work together and in partnership with WAN and Internet services providers for circuit ordering, provisioning, activations, upgrades, maintenance, and management. 
  • Provides project management for coordination and management for IT installations and relocations. 
  • Attends space meetings to support the program client's Data Center planning, engineering and operations. 
  • Coordinates and supports network activation and equipment installation. 
  • Monitors and maintains cooling systems installed in client's Datacom closets containing network equipment. 
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as needed. 
  • Travel: Travel may be required within the National Capital Region (NCR) on an as needed basis for customer or corporate requirements. 

**Position is Contingent on Contract Award** 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with a BS/BA, Min 3 years with a MS/MA (minimum 10 years with no degree) 
  • TS SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain a Poly.
  • Experience and understanding low voltage CAT 6 and fiber cabling. 
  • Experience and understanding of LAN/WAN topology. 
  • Experience with MS Windows and Office 365. 
  • Experience troubleshooting related network equipment installation and resolving issues during off-work hours and/or extended hours when outages or projects required. 
  • Experience conveying technical concepts to non-technical management to cross functional teams and management. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Journeyman/Electrician or HVAC license, preferred. 

Security Clearance:  

This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a  Poly, US Citizenship is required 

 To hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
