Role: Senior Network Operations SME & Site Lead
Role Summary
The Onsite Network Operations SME & Site Lead serves as the primary onsite technical lead for Customer Network Operations. The role provides advanced L2/L3 support, stakeholder engagement, offshore coordination, vendor management, major incident leadership, lifecycle modernization support, and network transformation guidance across LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, security, and cloud networking environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead major incident and escalations management for network services. Act as primary technical liaison between Customer and TCS delivery teams.
• Provide advanced L2/L3 support for LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN and firewall technologies.
• Coordinate with ISPs, carriers, OEMs and third-party vendors for fault resolution.
• Support lifecycle refresh, EOL/EOS remediation and infrastructure modernization programs.
• Drive root cause analysis, trend analysis and service improvement initiatives.
• Participate in Weekly Operations Reviews, Monthly Service Reviews and leadership discussions.
• Support network changes, upgrades, implementation and transition activities.
• Maintain network documentation, runbooks, CMDB accuracy and knowledge repositories.
• Support network refresh and lifecycle modernization initiatives.
• Review EOL/EOS device inventory and recommend technology refresh plans.
• Coordinate site network upgrades and deployment activities
• Partner with automation teams to deploy AI-enabled NetOps and self-healing capabilities.
Technical Environment
Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco Wireless, Juniper Mist, VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds, ServiceNow, AWS, GCP, VPN, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, Support network refresh and lifecycle modernization initiatives.
Review EOL/EOS device inventory and recommend technology refresh plans.
Coordinate site network upgrades and deployment activities
Monitoring & Automation
• Utilize SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Cisco, and other enterprise monitoring platforms.
• Support event correlation, alert tuning, and proactive monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with automation teams on AI-led network operations initiatives.
• Drive continuous service improvement opportunities and automation use cases.
Vendor and Stakeholder management
• Coordinate with ISPs, telecom providers, hardware vendors, and OEM support organizations.
• Participate in weekly operational reviews and monthly service review meetings.
• Provide executive-level communication during critical incidents.
• Support governance, reporting, and service review activities
Required Experience
• 10+ years of Network Engineering and Operations experience.
• Experience supporting global enterprise networks with 200+ sites.
• Experience with WAN, SD-WAN, wireless and security technologies.
• Experience coordinating offshore support organizations.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with OEM/vendor management and TAC engagement.
Preferred Certifications
CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise, PCNSE, AWS Advanced Networking, ITIL Foundation, SD-WAN Certifications.
