We are seeking Residential aides for our Transitional Housing shelter. The Residential Aide will be the primary connection between the operations staff and the clients. The residential aide will spend a large amount of time with the residents. They will spend this time helping client who need more hands-on assistance. They will also provide insight to the current atmosphere in the facility and what are the current client complaints or recommendations. Salary: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour

Responsibilities consist of but not limited to:

  • Perform Daily room and bed inspections
  • Pack up and log it0ems for AWOL residents
  • Escort client to appointments
  • Assist in the monitoring and development of residentโ€™s independent living skills
  • Monitor and track furniture
  • Perform nightly bed counts
  • Fill in for kitchen staff when necessary
  • Conflict resolution between residents
  • Cover operations desk when necessary
  • Answer phones when necessary
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the building
  • Monitor common areas to ensure proper usage

Education/ License:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associateโ€™s degree preferred
  • Food handlers certificate a plus

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of applicable experience in shelter or residential setting
  • Passion for working with individuals and families who are in transitional housing
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with others
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, to prepare and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion
  • Must be able to multitask with strong organizational skills
  • Bilingual is a plus
