Job description

We are looking for a Corporate Communications Specialist who is eager to grow their storytelling, media relations, and social amplification skills. The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of experience in communications or public relations, solid writing skills, and a curiosity for data-driven outcomes. This individual will collaborate closely with marketing, product, and customer teams to help develop compelling narratives, pitch and post news, views, and stories.
We want you to help build and drive our external communications reputation, in traditional, digital, and social media to help tell the impact Jeppesen ForeFlight has on the aviation industry, and our growth story. In this role, you will support driving external visibility, brand credibility, and thought leadership through media and social media engagement, working closely with the Corporate Communications and product marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute proactive media strategies across aviation, software, technology, and business press
  • Help build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, industry associations and influencers
  • Identify, develop, and pitch compelling stories that align with company priorities and market trends
  • Support and amplify executive presence across social platforms, especially LinkedIn and X
  • Develop high-quality written content including posts, articles, press materials, and general thought leadership topics
  • Drive engagement and visibility through data-informed social strategies
  • Help track KPIs across media coverage, share of voice, engagement, and sentiment
  • Leverage AI tools in almost every aspect, ranging from initial content creation, and media coverage to data analysis and insights
  • Pitch and secure media coverage across aviation, software, and technology outlets.
  • Write - a lot. Develop and edit press releases, media pitches, executive communications, and social content
  • Monitor media landscape and identify timely opportunities for thought leadership and commentary
  • Develop and schedule social media content across platforms, crafting platform-appropriate posts that drive engagement and advance brand storytelling
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing teams to align communications campaigns, messaging, and content calendars with broader go-to-market strategies
  • Partner with leadership to support executive visibility efforts, including preparing briefing materials, talking points, and social content that reflect organizational priorities

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, journalism, or public relations
  • Proven track record of securing media coverage and building journalist relationships
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong attention to quality and detail
  • Experience managing brand and executive social media presence
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content creation, media analysis, and workflow optimization
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aviation, software, or high-tech industries strongly preferred
