We are currently interviewing qualified candidates for an experienced Quality Control Lead Inspector. If you're ready to lead with integrity and help shape the future of aviation safety, we'd love to connect now in preparation for our next hiring phase. In this role, you will not only ensure the safety and airworthiness of aircraft by inspecting parts, components, and materials, but also provide leadership and guidance to the Quality Control team. You will review and audit technical records for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, mentor inspectors, coordinate daily assignments, and promote a culture of safety and quality. Guided by our core values of respect, safety, quality, and results, you will help set the standard for excellence across our operations.
As a 24/7 operation, we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. Preference is given to those available between 2:30 PM and 7:00 AM, including overnights and weekends. Some schedules may qualify for shift differential. Overtime-both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays-may also be required.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews non-preplanned documents to identify methods of repair and/or replacement identifying necessary parts, materials and tooling requirements. Provides timely estimate for all maintenance on non-preplanned documents within scope of responsibility.
  • Ensures that all aircraft parts/components removed from an aircraft in work, that are to be routed to Technical Services, are documented by a valid job number and that the work scope is properly identified.
  • Responsible for the proper execution of parts tags attached to repairable, serviceable, or condemned parts.
  • Performs aircraft inspection, flightline operations and shop work necessary to maintain aircraft in safe and airworthy condition.
  • Inspects parts and materials purchased for use in maintaining, modifying and configuration of aircraft and equipment to see that quality, allowable tolerances, etc. meet the specifications and standards set by the company and the applicable manufacturer.
  • Responsible for recording all inspection data on forms, reports and inspection tags and bringing to the attention of the Chief Inspector any irregularities in the standard practice used that would cause injury to personnel or make the aircraft unsafe.
  • Ensures that corrective actions used on all types of work cards have proper references documented as to work performed.
  • Ensure that RIIs are properly identified on all work cards used in accordance with customer procedures manuals.
  • Ensures that all Work-In-Progress Conformity Records are properly documented as to work performed for that shift assigned.
  • Performs the function of receiving inspector for those parts or materials routed for checking.
  • Tests tightness of airframe connections with hand tools and utilizes flashlight and mirror to inspect fit of parts.
  • Examines assembly, installation, and adjustment of ailerons and rudders to ensure that workmanship and materials conform with Civil Air Regulations, company specifications, and manual procedures.
  • Determines accuracy of installation of components in power plant and hydraulic system using protractor, micrometer, calipers, and gauges to ensure that specified tolerances are met.
  • Signs inspection tag to approve unit, or records reasons for rejecting unit.
  • Logs inspections performed on aircraft.
  • Performs orientation and on-the-job training for employees. Ensures that training is documented in employee training records.
  • Enforces company policies and safety regulations and the proper use of equipment and ensures that quality standards are met.
  • Coordinates activities of workers including assigning work duties for maximum utilization of manpower and analyzing and resolving work problems.
  • Maintains communications within area of responsibility, informing employees as to plans and progress and promoting teamwork and cooperation.
  • Performs facility audits for safety and policy compliance.
  • Performs duties of QC Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Performs maintenance duties away from base on temporary duty.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Proven leadership ability to guide, mentor, and coordinate a team.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding the English language
  • Skilled in using computer systems, maintenance manuals, documentation systems, and applying Federal Aviation Regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirements:
  • A&P License (valid and current)
  • 3 years of aircraft inspection experience in a high-volume MRO environment
  • 1 year of leadership experience, providing technical guidance to inspectors and technicians
Preferred Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level.
  • Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
OTHER DUTIES:
  • May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
  • Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.
