About the Role
Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is looking for an experienced Project Manager (Aviation/Transportation) to join our New Office in Atlanta, GA! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm. The Project Manager (Aviation/Transportation) is responsible for the successful completion and delivery of the assigned projects with the high goal of exceeding the clientโ€™s expectations in quality and service within the allocated schedule and budget. The Project Manager, through the Design Manager and Officer Manager, draws on the other members of the organization to lead the team with the resources, technical guidance, administrative and technical services and facilities necessary for efficient, profitable, timely and technically excellent project execution.
This role will oversee planning, production, performance design calculations, and assist with a variety of structural engineering projects within the Aviation Market. The primary focus will be overseeing the creation of construction plans and specifications, including, but not limited to, airfield construction and phasing plans, geometric design of runways,
taxiways and aprons; stormwater and utility infrastructure design, airfield pavement design, grading/earthwork, basic utility and electrical routing plans, erosion control and stormwater pollution prevention plans, coordination with airport, airline, FAA and other aviation tenants, projects in all phases of planning, design and construction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes, but not limited to, the following
* Overall responsible person for the technical accuracy and competency of the project.
* Maintaining solid knowledge of engineering principles and ensuring all projects are completed with DOT and FAA standards.
* Responsible for signing and sealing assigned projects as well as other project reports and documents prepared under direct supervision.
* Provide technical expertise in airfield design, pavement design, airfield lighting design, erosion and sedimentation control, and stormwater management.
* Oversee the design and creation of various airfield construction plans in alignment with client requirements, guidance, and IEI standards.
* Oversees, and self performs when required, preparation of design computations, plans, related construction documents, and preparation of quality and cost estimates.
* Oversees, and self performs when required, preparation of rt studies and regulatory approvals and es, use of computer assisted engineering and design software d equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
* Analyzes and interprets engineering and construction documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
* Reviews drawings and documents to assure compliance with companyโ€™s and clientโ€™s design and production standards as well as compliance with QA/QC procedures.
* Provides constructability reviews and value engineering reviews.
* Safeguards firmโ€™s risks by securing executed contracts, Notice to Proceed and Subconsultant Agreements prior to inception of project services.
* Assists in review of the contracts to safeguard firmโ€™s exposure against risks associated with scope, fees and schedule along with contract language which allocates unreasonable and uninsurable liability to the firm.
* Monitors project delivery in relation to the contracted scope and fees. Promptly identifies scope creeps and works diligently with client in either securing additional compensation or limits efforts to contracted scope of work while ensuring client is aware of limits of negotiated scope.
* Understands clientsโ€™ project delivery goals and proactively identifying issues and obstacles which may compromise or influence achievement of such goals.
* Negotiates contracts with clients along with developing scope, fees and schedule.
* Coordinates work with the clients as well as both internal and external team members.
* Coordinates with the Design Group Manager and all disciplines (internal and external) involved in project delivery to ensure that the project team understands their scope, schedules, and budgets,
* Schedules project progress meetings, as deemed necessary, with all disciplines and personnel to monitor project progress keep all participants updated on overall project progress.
* Keeps Design Manager and Project Principal updated regularly on project status.
* Attends client and public meetings (days, evening or nights).
* May serve as onsite project representative and/or provide construction observation duties in the field.
* Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
* Ensures that projects, documents and files are organized that allow efficient access to information required by other team members.
* Assists Design and Office Managers as requested and defined.

* A minimum of Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering from an accredited fourโ€year college or university or approved equivalent.
* A minimum of 11 years of Project Management experience; and at least 8 years of aviation and/or transportation experience.
* A valid driver's license is required, and a clean driving record is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
* Active licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer required. Additional registrations and accreditations (i.e. LEED AP, Certified Floodplain Manager, PTOE etc.) are desired.
* Other licensure or registration (must require Continuing Education to remain active) may be considered in lieu.
