STS Technical Services is hiring an Airline Maintenance Control Center Director in Denver, Colorado, for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity supporting a commercial air carrier.
This senior leadership role is responsible for Maintenance Control, Line and Heavy Maintenance, Technical Services, and Maintenance Planning. The Director will oversee maintenance operations, regulatory compliance, airworthiness, safety performance, workforce planning, and time-sensitive decisions that directly affect aircraft availability and scheduled service.

The Airline Maintenance Control Center Director plans, organizes, directs, and controls maintenance activities in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, approved maintenance programs, and established safety and airworthiness standards.
This position holds senior-level authority for operational maintenance decisions and provides leadership across multiple functions supporting aircraft reliability, compliance, and return-to-service activities.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Maintenance Control Center and related maintenance functions
- Ensure compliance with applicable Code of Federal Regulations, company policies, procedures, and approved maintenance programs
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities
- Maintain oversight of aircraft airworthiness releases and returns to service
- Oversee records for routine and non-routine maintenance items
- Direct the Airworthiness Directive accomplishment process
- Oversee MEL, CDL, and NEF deferral processes
- Maintain responsibility and authority for the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program
- Approve or modify MEL, CDL, and NEF programs as permitted
- Direct Maintenance Planning activities, including detailed aircraft maintenance scheduling
- Oversee workflow and workforce scheduling
- Provide senior-level direction to Maintenance Control and MEL subject-matter experts
- Make time-sensitive decisions affecting aircraft safety, airworthiness, and scheduled service
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Reliability Board activities
- Maintain oversight of RVSM program quality and compliance
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Prepare performance reports and measure results against operational plans
- Provide recommendations to Maintenance Training regarding program improvements
- Delegate authority formally and specifically to authorized personnel
- Ensure department personnel maintain required training, qualifications, and currency
- Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of the Safety Management System
- Identify operational hazards
- Evaluate risks associated with organizational and operational changes
- Monitor the effectiveness of established safety-risk controls
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout maintenance operations
- Advise executive leadership regarding SMS performance and areas for improvement
- Monitor safety performance related to maintenance activities
- Maintain operational risk within company-defined acceptable levels
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
- Must have held FAA Airframe and Powerplant ratings for at least five years
- At least one year of experience returning aircraft to service
- At least one year of supervisory experience with a Part 121 or Part 135 operator
- At least five years of Maintenance Control experience
- At least seven years of leadership or management experience with a transport-category air carrier or equivalent air carrier
- Comprehensive understanding of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance
- Strong knowledge of Maintenance Planning and Technical Services
- Strong understanding of aircraft airworthiness requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments
- Ability to make critical operational decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- FCC Radiotelephone Operator License
The successful candidate must possess, and certify through a Memorandum of Understanding, familiarity with:
