Position Summary:
The GSE & Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for overseeing GSE operations, fuel quality control and assurance processes, equipment and facility maintenance, and compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines across both locations - Vantage GMU and Vantage GYH. This role combines hands-on operational oversight with responsibility for audits, inspections, training, compliance initiatives, and quality assurance activities while serving as the primary point of contact for all GSE- and QC-related matters. The Technician plays a critical role in promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity, equipment reliability, and service excellence.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fuel movement, fuel quality, GSE maintenance, inspections, and QC/QA compliance.
  • Perform and oversee routine, preventive, and scheduled inspections of fuel farms, storage systems, fueling equipment, GSE, and related facilities across both locations to ensure operational readiness, safety, and compliance.
  • Monitor fuel systems, GSE, meters, gauges, and other operational systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations and to prevent spills, contamination, equipment failures, and service disruptions.
  • Coordinate and support the maintenance, servicing, repair tracking, and operational readiness of Vantage Aviation GSE and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, contractual obligations, and all applicable FAA, OSHA, NFPA 407, ATA 103, NATA, EPA, environmental, safety, and operational regulations and standards.
  • Identify, investigate, document, report, and resolve discrepancies, incidents, spills, equipment failures, near misses, and compliance issues related to fuel quality, GSE operations, safety, maintenance records, operational procedures, and documentation; implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, inspections, quality assurance activities, regulatory agencies, customers, auditors, and inspectors on fuel operations, GSE, safety, environmental, and compliance matters.
  • Lead and support quality control, quality assurance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, including hazard identification, risk assessment, corrective actions, mitigation strategies, and performance tracking.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, inspection findings, audit results, and corrective action status to management to support operational integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Line Service, Maintenance, and leadership teams to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Ensure the availability, inspection, maintenance, and proper use of PPE, safety equipment, spill response resources, and emergency preparedness procedures, including participation in drills and recovery activities.
  • Assist with the implementation and delivery of fuel quality, GSE, operational, safety, QC/QA, and compliance training programs; provide guidance and mentorship on safe operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Support daily operational needs and perform Line Service duties as assigned while carrying out all responsibilities in a safe, professional, and compliant manner.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge and proven experience in a GSE technician role.
  • Understanding of quality control processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years of GSE and hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior quality control experience (aviation-related preferred but not required).
  • NATA certification (or ability to obtain after meeting initial qualifications).
  • Working knowledge of ATA 103, NFPA 407, and aviation fuel handling standards.

Travel Requirements:
  • This position will require a small amount of travel, up to 15%, to conduct site visits, attend industry events, and trainings.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
  • Work is performed in both office and outdoor environments (fuel farms, ramps, and storage facilities) with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to aviation fuel, fumes, high-noise environments, and moving aircraft and equipment; required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, testing equipment, gauges, and computer systems.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, read meters/gauges, and communicate clearly in person, by radio, and by phone in a noisy environment.
