Join Utah Valley University's nationally recognized School of Aviation Sciences in one of two tenure-track faculty positions beginning January 2027 and help prepare the next generation of aviation professionals in a student-centered, teaching-focused environment. • Develop and teach undergraduate aviation courses in astudent-centered learning environment.
• Engage in scholarly activities and/or creative works thatsupport the missions of the university, department, and aviationprofession.
• Participate in community outreach, industry partnerships, andcurriculum development to align academic programs with workforceand industry needs.
• Teach courses in a variety of formats, which may include day,evening, weekend, online, blended, and off-campus instruction.
• Contribute to UVU's strong culture of teaching excellence bycreating engaging learning experiences that help students achievetheir educational goals.

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution inAviation or a related field to the coursework beingtaught.

• PhD in an Aviation-related field from a regionally accreditedinstitution.
• Higher education experience with online teachingexperience.

• Knowledge of the principles and methodology of adult teachingtechniques.
• Knowledge of current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)policies, regulations, and procedures as related to best practicesin industry.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis andresearch methodology.
• Knowledge of subject matter and course content.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques in upperand lower division courses.
• Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation of(peer and self) instruction.
• Knowledge of program and curriculum development andevaluation.
• Knowledge of and expertise in current trends in education, suchas engaged learning and service learning, learning technologies(e.g., digital technologies for classroom management and distanceeducation), public presenting, and report and grantwriting.

• Skills in recruiting, interviewing, and placement ofstudents.
• Skills in assisting counselors and other department heads inmaintaining an effective program.
• Proven skills as an accomplished teacher or trainer.

• Ability to develop curriculum and teach designcourses.

• Ability to teach college/university level aviation courses withthe knowledge and skill to encourage a high degree of interactivitywith students and department staff using a wide variety ofmethodologies.

• Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students,agency administrators, and community practitioners from variousethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
