Aviation Cleaner information

What does an aviation cleaner do?

An aviation cleaner is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior and sometimes the exterior of aircraft. This includes tasks such as vacuuming cabins, wiping down tray tables, disinfecting lavatories, restocking supplies, and ensuring that the aircraft is neat and safe for passengers and crew. Aviation cleaners also follow strict safety and security protocols due to the sensitive environment of airports and airplanes. Their work helps maintain hygiene standards and contributes to the overall passenger experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an aviation cleaner, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Aviation Cleaner, you need attention to detail, knowledge of cleaning protocols, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, specialized aviation cleaning equipment, and safety procedures such as OSHA regulations is important. Reliability, teamwork, and time management are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure aircraft are cleaned efficiently, safely, and to the high standards required for passenger safety and airline operations.
