Job description

Do you love being on the road and providing a great experience for passengers? Avalon Transportation is looking for a dependable, professional Shuttle Driver to join our team in Santa Cruz. If you are a stable, service-oriented professional who enjoys a consistent weekday schedule and a premium work environment, we want to meet you!

Why Avalon?

At Avalon, we provide premium transportation services for discerning clients. Unlike traditional transit jobs, this role is centered on a dedicated campus shuttle program. You’ll be driving high-quality equipment, including 28-passenger mini-buses and 35-ft motorcoaches, in a stable, respectful environment.

The Role

  • Predictable Schedule: Enjoy your weekends! This is a Full-Time, Monday through Friday position.
  • Streamlined Duties: Your focus is on safe driving and passenger service. No heavy lifting, no ticketing, and no vehicle “dumping”—your only maintenance responsibility is fueling.
  • Local Route: All routes start and end right here in Santa Cruz.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

  • License: Valid Class B CDL
  • Endorsements: Passenger endorsement required — but air brakes NOT required (but are a plus)
  • Experience: 2 years of commercial driving experience required
  • Compliance: Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, and background check.
  • Professionalism: Fluent English and a courteous, "customer-first" attitude.
  • Tech Savvy: Ability to use GPS and electronic logging (HOS) apps.
  • Appearance & Gear
  • We provide company-branded polo shirts. Drivers provide their own professional black pants and black shoes to complete the Avalon look.
