Job description

Role Overview
We are seeking an AV Project Manager to support and oversee audiovisual operations for meetings, conferences, and events at a federal research facility. This role acts as the technical and operational lead for AV services, working closely with event coordinators, technical staff, and Government stakeholders to ensure high-quality execution of in-person and hybrid meetings.
The AV Project Manager serves as a subject matter expert in AV and conferencing technologies and plays a key role in planning, coordination, continuous improvement, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate AV support for meetings, conferences, and special events
  • Attend and contribute to weekly operations meetings, monthly planning meetings, and client coordination sessions
  • Serve as the AV technical subject matter expert for conferencing and collaboration technologies
  • Work closely with event coordinators to design and implement appropriate AV solutions for client needs
  • Monitor ongoing AV operations and ensure issues are identified, escalated, and resolved quickly
  • Communicate technical risks or problems that may impact meetings to Government stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and update AV-related standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Track and provide data, metrics, and reports related to AV performance and service quality
  • Identify opportunities for technology improvements and recommend enhancements based on industry trends

Required Qualifications
  • Experience managing audiovisual or event technology operations
  • Strong knowledge of video conferencing and collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
  • Hands-on familiarity with professional AV systems and equipment
  • Experience coordinating multiple meetings or events simultaneously
