Audio/Visual Technician On-Site
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: On-Site
Experience Required: 5+ Years
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced On-Site Audio/Visual Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary technical resource for all AV operations, ensuring seamless delivery of events, meetings, and productions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to plan, install, operate, and maintain a wide range of AV systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and strike AV equipment for live events, corporate meetings, conferences, town halls, and presentations
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical point of contact for clients and event coordinators
  • Install, configure, and maintain permanent and temporary AV systems including displays, projectors, videoconferencing systems, audio consoles, microphones, and lighting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues in real time with minimal disruption to events
  • Conduct pre-event technical walkthroughs, sound checks, and system testing
  • Maintain an accurate equipment inventory; coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades
  • Collaborate with IT, facilities, and production teams to ensure integrated system performance
  • Support hybrid and virtual events using platforms such as Zoom, Teams, or equivalent tools
  • Document system configurations, maintenance records, and incident reports
  • Train and mentor junior AV staff and coordinate with external vendors as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in AV production or systems operation in a corporate, hospitality, or production environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with professional audio consoles (analog and digital), mixing boards, and signal routing
  • Experience with video switching, projection systems, LED displays, and digital signage
  • Strong working knowledge of videoconferencing platforms and hybrid event workflows
  • Familiarity with structured cabling, AV-over-IP systems, and signal distribution (HDMI, SDI, Dante/AES67)
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced, high-visibility event settings
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CTS (InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist), CTS-I, or CTS-D
  • Experience with control system programming (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC)
  • Familiarity with lighting systems and DMX control
  • Knowledge of IPTV distribution, digital signage platforms, or broadcast workflows
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in AV Technology, Broadcast Media, or a related field

Working Conditions
This is a fully on-site role; regular on-site presence is required
May require early morning, evening, and occasional weekend availability to support events
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work from ladders or lifts as needed
