Project Designer, Audiovisual Location: Toronto, Ontario Salary: $80,000 to $120,000 annually Our client is an established Canadian building systems consulting firm with a strong reputation for delivering complex design projects across the country. Their work supports major public, institutional, commercial, transportation, education, healthcare, and mixed use environments. They are currently looking for an experienced Audiovisual Project Designer to join their Toronto team.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of AV design but also wants to be involved in client conversations, project coordination, and the full delivery process. The successful candidate will help lead audiovisual system design from early planning through construction documentation and site support. The role requires someone who can work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, AV integrators, and internal design teams.

You will help define user requirements, develop coordinated AV solutions, manage design deliverables, and ensure the final design is practical, coordinated, buildable, and aligned with the project's scope, schedule, and budget. What you will be doing Lead client and user discussions to understand audiovisual requirements and convert them into clear, coordinated design solutions. Manage AV system design through concept development, detailed design, tender documentation, and construction support.

Prepare coordinated drawings, details, specifications, and tender packages. Work with architects, interior designers, engineers, and other consultants to properly integrate AV equipment into the building design. Coordinate with AV integrators, general contractors, suppliers, and trades to resolve construction and coordination issues.

Review design requirements against project scope, budget, schedule, and constructability. Support project documentation, including site instructions, change notices, and related construction administration items. Build productive working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and internal team members.

Support and mentor junior members of the audiovisual team. What we are looking for Five or more years of experience in audiovisual design, electrical design, building systems, AV integration, or a related technical field. Experience working on building design, consulting engineering, construction, or AV integration projects.

Strong understanding of audiovisual systems and industry standards. Familiarity with AVIXA standards would be considered an asset. Experience with Microsoft Office, CAD, Revit, and project management tools.

P.Eng., CTS, or CTS D certification would be considered an asset. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, clients, and technical priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams

A practical, detail focused approach to design coordination and problem solving. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently when required. A sense of urgency and the ability to keep projects moving while maintaining quality.
