What are AV Operations Managers?

AV Operations Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the daily operations of audiovisual (AV) services within an organization or at events. They manage AV teams, coordinate the setup and maintenance of equipment, and ensure that all audio and visual technology runs smoothly during meetings, conferences, or productions. Their role often includes planning AV logistics, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. AV Operations Managers also work closely with clients and other departments to meet specific technical requirements and maintain high-quality AV experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AV Operations Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AV Operations Manager, you need strong leadership, project management, and technical knowledge of audio-visual systems, typically backed by a degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Familiarity with AV control systems, video conferencing platforms, and certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) are commonly required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills help professionals excel in managing teams and client expectations. These skills ensure seamless AV operations, high-quality service delivery, and successful project outcomes in dynamic environments.

What are some common challenges an AV Operations Manager faces when overseeing multiple event projects simultaneously?

AV Operations Managers often juggle several events at once, requiring careful coordination of equipment, schedules, and technical teams. A key challenge is ensuring that each event is properly staffed and that all audio-visual equipment is available, tested, and functioning according to client requirements and venue specifications. Additionally, last-minute client requests or technical issues can arise, so adaptability and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Effective communication and collaboration with event planners, technicians, and vendors help ensure successful execution across all projects.

Job description

Overview
Weโ€™re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse AV Technician to join our team! This role combines warehouse operations with technology field deployment โ€” ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly from the warehouse to the customer site.

Your time will be split between the warehouse where youโ€™ll receive, prepare, inventory, and ship technology equipment to the field, where you will install digital signage and AV systems at client locations. If you have a strong background in inventory, shipping/receiving, and asset management โ€” and youโ€™re comfortable working with computers and tools โ€” this could be a great fit.

Description - What Youโ€™ll Do -

Warehouse & Inventory Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
  • Prepare, package, and ship equipment for customer deployments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and asset tracking logs.
  • Configure, image, and label devices before deployment.
  • Manage returns (RMA), equipment audits, and general warehouse organization.

Field & Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installations of digital signage, AV systems, and IoT technology.
  • Mount, cable, test, and verify hardware installations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and handle basic network configuration.
  • Respond to and resolve service tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for scheduled deployments and support needs.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management.
  • 3+ years of field experience in AV, digital signage, or IT installations.
  • Strong computer skills โ€” comfortable with imaging devices, updating tickets, and tracking assets.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use hand tools, and safely work with ladders and installation gear.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record.
  • Great communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work after hours/weekends when needed.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with digital signage platforms or AV hardware.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanners, asset management, or inventory software.
  • Forklift certification or warehouse safety training.
  • Prior experience in a technology services or deployment environment.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools (drills, drivers, crimpers, cable testers).

Application Process
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resumes and cover letters detailing their relevant experience and qualifications. Corserva is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
