Job description

At ASI, we are revolutionizing industries with state-of-the-art autonomous robotics solutions. Within the fields of agriculture, construction, landscaping, and logistics, we deliver technologies that enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency. With our core values of Simplicity, Safety, Transparency, Humility, Attention to Detail, Autonomy and Growth guiding everything we do, we're shaping the future of automation in dynamic markets.
This is a full-time project-based employee role supporting the initial development phase of our autonomous vehicle platforms. Development phases of this nature typically span up to project completion (typically 2-4 years), though scope and duration are driven by business needs.
As a UX/UI Designer III, you will elevate user experiences for ASI's global customers by applying user centered design principles to our command-and-control platform. You will partner with product managers, engineers, QA, and customers to translate complex operational needs into intuitive interfaces and workflows. You will set high design standards, create prototypes and production ready UI assets, and help shape the company's UX strategy across web and mobile surfaces.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with product managers and customers to understand needs and make informed design decisions.
  • Analyze customer requirements and user needs and design intuitive user flow diagrams that integrate with ASI's digital platform and UX strategy.
  • Translate ideas into sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for stakeholder and user feedback.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate and refine designs and continuously improve user experience.
  • Create high resolution UI mockups consistent with UI guidelines and ASI's core value of simplicity.
  • Review technical feasibility of designs with software engineers to ensure solutions are implementable and meet program timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers during implementation to ensure delivered UI matches design intent and quality standards.
  • Contribute to building and promoting ASI's UI guidelines, component libraries, and UX design standards.
  • Stay current on UX/UI trends, techniques, and best practices and apply them to ASI's products.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, handoffs, and assets for cross functional teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in user experience design, human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive psychology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A digital portfolio that demonstrates a proven track record of crafting simple UI/UX solutions to complex problems.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in UX/UI design for digital products.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software development practices.
  • Experience using application lifecycle management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong ability to clearly articulate and rationalize design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting usability testing and applying research insights to design iteration.
