As a Construction Superintendent inย Civil Construction, you will direct all field operations for civil construction projects, serving as the primary on-site authority over safety, schedule, quality, and crew performance. You will translate project plans into daily execution, manage subcontractors and field crews, and keep work moving against milestones and budget. This role is for someone equally comfortable leading a toolbox talk and reviewing a master schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Direct on-site construction activities across roadways, earthwork, utilities, and drainage.

  • Serve as primary on-site contact for owners, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules including 3-week lookaheads and the master schedule.

  • Champion job site safety, conduct daily inspections, and enforce OSHA compliance.

  • Supervise and mentor field crews including foremen, laborers, operators, and craft workers.

  • Manage subcontractor performance, scheduling, and contract compliance.

  • Implement and enforce the project QC/QA plan to specification.

  • Maintain daily job logs, field reports, RFIs, and change order documentation.


Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of civil construction field experience, including 3-5 years as a superintendent.

  • Demonstrated experience on civil projects such as roadways, earthwork, utilities, or site development.

  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing for civil work.

  • Proficiency reading and interpreting civil engineering plans, specifications, and survey data.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or Viewpoint.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means.

  • Ability to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods.

  • Ability to work outdoors in conditions including heat, cold, noise, dust, and proximity to heavy equipment.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
