Job description

Job Summary and General Purpose of Position:

The Automotive Test Technician will support the Test Vehicle Fleet with Routine Maintenance, Repair, Parts Replacement, Data Acquisition Equipment Installation, Data Collection, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Instrument & collect data using proprietary data acquisition systems.
  • Vehicle Parts Ordering & Inventory Management.
  • Participate in and support special testing.
  • Complete vehicle maintenance, repairs, system diagnosis (incl. electrical), parts replacement, etc.
  • Re-flash vehicle software
  • Submit a Daily Report summarizing daily activity, future plan, etc.
  • Bi-Weekly Data Collection Schedule/Report.
  • Ability to work off-site independently and Report Out Daily Summary.
  • Other reports as required

Job Requirements:

Skills/Experience- Four (4) years licensed driving experience. Must possess certified driving record(s) from California and/or other state(s) of residence during the previous 60 month period, with no moving violations or at fault accidents in the last 3 years.  Driving record can be no more than 15 days old. Must be able to drive a manual transmission proficiently, as well as an automatic transmission. Ability to pass Drivers Training.  Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating proceduresAbility to communicate using Microsoft Applications (analyze data in MS Excel, Summarize concerns in MS PowerPoint. 3+ years of related automotive experience. High voltage system/battery safety training. Experience with various alternative energy vehicle platforms preferred (BEV, Hybrid, Hydrogen, etc). Proficiency with diagnostic equipment.  Education- High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Automotive Technical certification/degree or equivalent experience. Physical Requirements- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Job requires sitting, standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis. Must be flexible and available to work overtime, and hours outside of normal demands, including weekends and Holidays. Ability to pass Drug Screen, Physical, background check, pre-employment written and driving tests. Must be eligible to work in the US.
