Automotive Instructor โ€“ Put Your Experience to Work (No Teaching Experience Needed)

Are you an experienced automotive technician whoโ€™s tired of flat-rate pressure, weekend shifts, and the physical grind of the shop?

This is your opportunity to stay in the industry you love, share your real-world knowledge, and build a stable, rewarding career training the next generation of automotive professionals.

Weโ€™re looking for skilled technicians โ€” not career teachers. If you know the trade, weโ€™ll teach you how to teach.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing

As an Automotive Instructor, youโ€™ll bring hands-on shop experience into the classroom and lab, teaching students how the industry truly operates โ€” not just whatโ€™s written in a manual.

You will:
โ€ข Teach hands-on automotive repair and diagnostic skills using real vehicles and shop equipment
โ€ข Demonstrate proper safety procedures, tool usage, and repair techniques
โ€ข Share troubleshooting strategies, customer service insights, and workflow best practices
โ€ข Mentor students at various skill levels โ€” from entry-level to advanced learners
โ€ข Prepare students for industry certifications (ASE and state licensing where applicable)
โ€ข Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development
โ€ข Work independently while receiving support from an experienced education team

No lesson plans from scratch, no education degree required โ€” we provide curriculum, training, and support.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience
  • ASE Certifications required within 6-12 months of hire
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostics, electrical systems, engine performance, and repair procedures
  • Ability to work independently and manage your day
  • Strong communication and organization skills

Why This Role?

โ€ข No flat-rate stress. No weekend shop hours
โ€ข Formal and on-the-job training to become an instructor
โ€ข Make a meaningful impact on studentsโ€™ lives and careers
โ€ข Extend your automotive career without the physical strain of daily shop work

If youโ€™re ready to step out of the service bay without stepping away from the industry, this could be the next great chapter of your career.
