Job description

We are seeking a customer-focused Parts Counter Associate / Parts Advisor to join our parts department at our Watford City location. In this role, you will be the go-to resource for customers and service technicians looking to identify, locate, and order the right parts for their vehicles. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about the automotive industry. Prior dealership or automotive parts experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist retail and wholesale customers and service technicians in identifying and ordering the correct parts and accessories
  • Process parts orders by locating and retrieving inventory from stock
  • Provide accurate pricing, availability information, and delivery timelines
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and perform regular stock checks
  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts shipments
  • Ensure the parts department is organized, clean, and efficiently managed
  • Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to fulfill parts requests promptly
  • Process returns and warranty claims according to dealership and manufacturer procedures
  • Provide professional and courteous phone and in-person customer service
  • Stay informed on current parts, product updates, and automotive industry trends

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a parts counterperson, parts advisor, or in an automotive parts retail environment preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and locate parts quickly
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and phone etiquette skills
  • Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) a plus
  • Ability to calculate pricing, discounts, and margins using basic math and Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when fulfilling orders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Reliably commute to Watford City, ND
