Job description

Automotive Service Manager
Lead With Hospitality. Drive the Sale. Own the Number.
Precision Tune Auto Care | Locally Owned & Operated | Backed by a 50-Year National Brand
Most people walk into an auto repair shop braced for the worst. They expect to be talked down to, upsold, and rushed out the door. We built our business on being the opposite of that - and we're looking for a leader who lives it.
This isn't a job for someone who wants to hide behind a counter and run out the clock. It's for an operator who understands that in this business, the experience is the product just as much as the repair is. Great hospitality, done consistently, is what turns a first-time oil change into a customer for the next ten years.
For over 50 years, Precision Tune Auto Care has earned trust the hard way - honest recommendations, quality work, and treating every person who walks in like a guest, not a transaction. We do complete vehicle maintenance and repair: oil changes, diagnostics, brakes, suspension, A/C, engine work, and everything in between. What sets us apart isn't the bay - it's how people feel when they leave it.
We want a Service Manager who's hungry to grow a shop, obsessed with the guest experience, and takes full ownership of the number.
This Role Is For You If...
  • You treat every customer like a guest in your home - you greet them, you listen, you earn the trust before you earn the sale.
  • You believe there's no such thing as a bad day at the shop, only a problem you haven't solved yet. No excuses. You own the outcome.
  • You can sell without pressure - because you educate, you build value, and people say yes because they trust you, not because you cornered them.
  • You get more satisfaction out of developing your team than out of anything on your own scorecard.
  • You want to build something, not just supervise it.
This Role Is NOT For You If...
  • You need a schedule, a spreadsheet, and someone else to blame when the numbers slip.
  • You think "customer service" ends when the ticket is written.
  • You manage from a chair.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary with weekly performance bonuses - you drive the results, you share in them
  • Employer-paid Medical Insurance
  • Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Five Paid Holidays
  • Closed evenings and Sundays - we want you sharp, not burned out
  • Ongoing training and real career advancement
  • Employee discounts on automotive services
  • Stable, year-round employment with an established company
What You'll Own
You run the day-to-day operation of the shop - and you own everything that flows through it: the guest experience, the sales, the workflow, and the people.
  • Set the hospitality standard and hold the team to it - every guest, every visit, every time
  • Lead, coach, and develop your service advisors and technicians into people who are better because they worked for you
  • Drive sales the right way - through trust, education, and value, never pressure
  • Manage shop workflow and scheduling for maximum productivity and on-time delivery
  • Own your daily numbers: sales, labor, gross profit, and the KPIs that tell you where the business really is
  • Review repair recommendations for accuracy and honest value - protect the customer and the reputation
  • Ensure every repair is done safely, correctly, and on time
  • Hire, train, and build a bench - great shops are built on great people
  • Control inventory and operating expenses like it's your own money, because you're running it like it's your own shop
  • Build relationships with fleet accounts and local businesses that keep the bays full
  • Handle concerns head-on and turn upset customers into loyal ones
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards
  • Perform opening and closing manager responsibilities
  • Set the tone - a culture of accountability, hustle, and hospitality that your team feeds off of
Who You Are
  • Proven leadership in an automotive service environment - Service Manager, Shop Manager, Assistant Manager, Service Advisor, or similar
  • Automotive repair industry experience required
  • A natural leader who builds teams and develops people, not just directs traffic
  • Exceptional at guest experience and communication - you make people feel taken care of
  • Sales-driven with integrity - you educate customers, you don't pressure them
  • Can read repair orders and understand maintenance recommendations
  • Sharp on organization and time management under pressure
  • Basic computer and point-of-sale proficiency
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Bonus Points
  • ASE certifications
  • Experience with shop management software
  • A track record managing both technicians and service advisors
  • Fleet account management experience
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing
  • Ability to safely operate customer vehicles
  • Comfortable moving between the office and the shop floor - because a great manager is in both
