About Us

ACAL Precision Products is a small, fast-paced precision machining shop specializing in automotive prototypes, defense, and low-volume production work. With a team of about 10 highly skilled professionals, we thrive on flexibility and collaboration. Everyone wears multiple hats to deliver complex, high-tolerance parts on time and with the highest quality.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector with strong CMM programming skills to join our team. This role will be hands-on with both surface plate inspection and CMM inspection/programming, covering first-piece, in-process, and final inspections. The ideal candidate will be experienced, detail-oriented, and confident in both traditional metrology and modern CMM techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of precision machined parts.

  • Create and run CMM programs (Zeiss) for prototype and production parts.

  • Use a variety of inspection tools including height master, shadow graph, micrometers, calipers, and surface plate setups.

  • Interpret and apply GD&T per engineering drawings.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation including FAI, PPAP, NCRs, and customer inspection reports.

  • Work closely with machinists and management to identify and resolve quality issues.

  • Maintain inspection equipment and contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes.

Qualifications
  • Experience with both surface plate inspection and CMM programming/operation (Zeiss preferred).

  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T (mandatory).

  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

  • Familiarity with inspection reporting requirements (FAI, PPAP, NCRs).

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Education: open to all backgrounds โ€” experience will be valued over formal education.

  • Automotive or defense industry experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly pay: $25โ€“$35 (based on experience).

  • Trial period with review after 3 months to adjust starting rate.
