Job description

Requisition Summary 

Are you ready to make a direct impact in shaping PACCAR's future by supporting new major component launches? In this vital role, you will help facilitate the Service Publications across our Peterbilt and Kenworth product portfolios. You will act as the liaison between authors, engineering, dealer training, field service, legal, and many other stakeholders to identify and publish content. You will work in coordination with the Service Content Managers to complete required deliverables while achieving major program milestones.

This position can be located at PNT (Lewisville, TX) or at PACCAR Parts (Renton, WA). 

 

Responsibilities Include 

  • Serve as a liaison between engineering, subject matter experts, and technical authors to ensure accurate and timely content delivery   
  • Project manage service content schedules and timelines to consistently meet milestones and deadlines   
  • Review requests for new documentation and updates; assign topics based on author expertise and availability   
  • Track and report documentation progress to program teams, ensuring transparency and alignment   
  • Participate in engineering design reviews to identify service documentation needs and ensure alignment with product development 
  • Ensure all documentation meets quality standards for accuracy, readability, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines   
  • Manage and maintain SharePoint content for the team to ensure accessibility and organization   
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support cross-functional collaboration   
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives  
  • Provide feedback to engineering from a service perspective to improve product supportability and serviceability  
  • Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of chassis, engine, and aftertreatment systems   
  • Improve troubleshooting guides by identifying gaps in repair procedures and supporting standard repair time development   

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Publications, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience 
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex topics clearly and succinctly 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset 
  • Strong technical or automotive aptitude, with a mechanical background and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand automotive concepts 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Suite, and SharePoint 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning to support departmental growth 
  • Motivation to deliver high-quality technical documentation tailored for customers and dealers 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail and time management skills 
  • Project management qualification (PMP), or equivalent experience as a project manager 
  • Knowledge and experience in content management (CMS) or content lifecycle (CLS) systems, Smartsheet, XML/DITA, and HTML production 
  • Experience with Engine RMI for North America 
  • Smartsheet knowledge / experience  
  • Understanding of industry standards that directly impact technical publications

Salary Range

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this position is $80,800 - $111,650 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
