Job description

Job Title: General Production WorkerJob Description

The General Production Worker operates automated conveyor lines and testing equipment to build and assemble high-quality pumps. This role follows detailed work instructions, supports material flow within the cell, and helps maintain production and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Follow detailed work instructions to operate all parts of the automated conveyor line and testing equipment to assemble pumps according to specifications.
  • Learn and apply proper gauging techniques to inspect products as required and verify they meet quality standards.
  • Move materials and parts within the cell work area to support continuous production flow and replenish stock as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and equipment documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review and understand quality alerts, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to the team lead.
  • Repair defective or rejected production parts on a daily basis to ensure they meet acceptable quality criteria.
  • Analyze defects to identify potential root causes and actively support corrective action programs.
  • Operate and work around various production machines, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, hand tool, and assembly equipment.
  • Handle and lift pumps weighing up to 40 lbs, placing them at the designated station for stacking and shipping.
  • Support a safe, clean, and organized work area by following all safety guidelines and using required personal protective equipment.
  • Work a consistent schedule on an 8-hour or 10-hour shift and remain available to work 7 days a week as required by production demands.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in a manufacturing environment in a production worker, machine operator, or assembler position.
  • Demonstrated assembly experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Solid, stable work history with good tenure in previous roles.
  • Ability to lift and safely handle items up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Comfort working with and around production machinery, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical equipment, welding equipment, hand tools, and assembly equipment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to work 7 days a week based on production needs and to work assigned 8-hour or 10-hour shifts.

Work Environment

The role is based in a newly renovated manufacturing plant in Warren that produces pump, valvetrain, transmission, and electric drive components and systems for major automotive customers. The facility houses a variety of equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, welding, hand tool, and assembly machinery, creating a modern and technically diverse production environment. Work is performed on either an 8-hour or 10-hour shift schedule, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift options: 8-hour shifts run 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, and 11:00 PM–7:30 AM; 10-hour shifts run 5:00 AM–3:30 PM and 3:00 PM–1:30 AM. Employees must be available to work 7 days a week based on production requirements. The environment emphasizes safety, with steel toe allowance and provided safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves. Work takes place on the production floor, involving frequent standing, movement within the cell, and regular lifting of up to 40 lbs in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
