Job description

Job Title: Production Supervisor - Automotive Assembly Environment

Job Description

This position involves working in an assigned area within the facility. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a large assigned area and supervising union employees (50-70+) on the production assembly floor.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety, quality, and production, in that order, when running a zone.
  • Supervise workforce to ensure compliance with processes, policies, and procedures related to employee safety, product safety, quality, and production volume.
  • Maintain hourly personnel files, including documents related to company policy such as employee counseling, time and attendance, and work performance.
  • Make personnel decisions such as training, planning, disciplines, rewards, performance reviews, addressing complaints, and problem-solving.
  • Lead teams ranging from 20-60+ hourly employees, depending on the department.
  • Engage in daily interaction with union employees, skilled trades, quality teams, maintenance personnel, engineering, and plant leadership.
  • Monitor production targets, quality metrics, safety performance, attendance, and cost objectives closely.
  • Conduct safety discussions, investigate incidents, ensure compliance with procedures, and promote safe work practices.
  • Continuously monitor workplace hazards and ergonomic concerns.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of supervision experience within a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in supervising within a manufacturing environment and leading in a unionized environment.
  • Conflict resolution skills within a production environment.
  • Understanding of training, performance management, and coaching.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Process Improvement.
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations and possess strong communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent experience in supervision or leadership.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
