About the role

As a Mechatronics Engineer at Westmag, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and integrating electromechanical systems for drone motors and robotic actuators. You will collaborate closely with design, test, and manufacturing teams to optimize product performance and ensure system reliability. This position requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering skills to innovate and improve Westmag's cutting-edge motor and actuator technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electro-mechanical systems for the production and testing of drone motors and robot actuators.
  • Integrate electrical, mechanical, and software subsystems to deliver reliable, repeatable production systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product introduction.
  • Design, build and test manufacturing automation equipment, such as pick-and-place, load-and-unload, and automated in-line testing equipment.
  • Document technical specifications, design decisions, equipment manuals, and maintenance schedules.
  • Analyze emerging technologies and conduct R&D projects when applicable.

Requirements

Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience building mechatronic systems used in a high volume production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, electronics, and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with embedded software development and hardware integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and circuit design tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in drone, robotics, automotive or electronics industries.
  • Familiarity with motor control electronics and firmware.
  • Knowledge of system-level testing and validation for electromechanical devices.
  • Experience with automation and control systems.
