Job description

Vehicle Handler - Railcar Loader
Company: Road & Rail Services
Location: Huntsville, AL
Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Turn Your Driving Skills into a Career
Road & Rail Services is hiring dependable Vehicle Handlers to support automotive and rail operations in Huntsville, Alabama. In this position, you will drive new vehicles from the production area to designated parking locations and carefully load them into railcars for transportation.
This is an active, outdoor position that requires attention to detail, safe driving habits, and the ability to follow specific loading instructions. You will work as part of a team to keep vehicles moving safely and efficiently through the facility.
If you enjoy staying active, working around new vehicles, and seeing the results of your work each day, this may be the opportunity for you. Previous railroad or automotive experience is not required. We are looking for reliable employees who are willing to learn and committed to working safely.
What You Will Do
Drive new vehicles from production or staging areas to assigned parking locations.
Load vehicles into railroad cars according to established loading procedures.
Properly position and secure vehicles for safe transportation.
Inspect vehicles for visible damage before and after movement.
Follow designated routes, speed limits, and facility traffic rules.
Maintain safe spacing between vehicles during movement and staging.
Enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday.
Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding workflow or safety concerns.
Follow customer instructions, company procedures, and all applicable safety requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Attend required training sessions and safety meetings.
Perform other vehicle-handling duties based on operational needs.
What We Are Looking For
A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to safely operate automatic-transmission vehicles. Experience driving manual-transmission vehicles is helpful.
Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb, and repeatedly enter and exit vehicles.
Willingness to work around railcars and in automotive production or storage areas.
Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
Dependable attendance and the ability to report to work as scheduled.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
A positive attitude and desire to grow with the company.
